Introduction:
This welcome page has been created to welcome people who have subscribed to our weekly newsletter. Hopefully you are either a person interested in thought-provoking, sometimes immensely detailed, highly stylistic movie reviews of all the latest movies -or- you are a practical person who simply wants to know if a movie is worth your time and money. Since going to the movies can be quite expensive these days, movieEVERYday.com utilizes a system known as the W.I.P Scale™ to rate movies on a value of $15 (very high) to $3 (low as you can go) with $9 being average. So, if a movie receives a score higher than $9 this critic recommends it highly. Less than $9 you should probably save your money. Right on $9 is a hit or miss, too close to call.
Site Navigation:
At the top you should see the two basic site navigation tools: the beveled tabs including the W.I.P. Scale™ page, reviews for films from 2005 and 2006, and extras including poll results, coming soon--a very fun page of movie posters and soundtracks of movies coming soon, and the latest addition W.I.P. Scale for DVD™ to help guide you in your purchase of DVDs. Below those you will find quick links to the most recent films reviewed and their W.I.P. Scale™ scores. Just click on a title to see the review for that film.
Homepage:
The normal homepage for this site, which this is not the normal home page, will have 4 or 5 movie reviews of the latest films. I go to the movies every single day and review them the next so you always have something fresh to look at when you visit, which I hope will be every single day, if you can. You can get to the normal homepage by going to http://www.movieEVERYday.com, of course.
Side Window:
On the right side of the home page you will also find a sorted quick version of the W.I.P. Scale™ (remember this is not the home page, so you won't see it there now). You can check this or you can book mark the W.I.P. Scale™ page if you prefer to have a quick look at a ranking of what you should see when you plan to go to the movies or even when you don't plan. If a friend says to you, "Hey, I want to see Benchwarmers", but you would prefer to see Lucky Number Slevin, maybe a copy of the W.I.P. Scale™ will help convince your friend that his or her money will be better spent if they follow your selection! I actually know a few married couples that use the W.I.P. Scale™ exclusively to settle which movie they will go see! Funny, but true.
Final Thoughts:
Lastly, you should know that movieEVERYday.com has been set up to make this your one stop for everything you would need to know when deciding to spend money related to movies. So, if you need the soundtrack for a film, check here first, and we have set up links to take you directly to the soundtracks or the DVDs or the props or the posters, etc. And, everything, of course, is organized on the W.I.P. Scale™ notion that if you click on the review for a $13-rated movie, you will know that it rated highly when you go to purchase the DVD or the soundtrack. OF COURSE WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL AGREE WITH THIS CRITIC. You might see the movie and give it $2. So, to be sure, you should look over the W.I.P. Scale™ and see if the ratings are similar to what you would have given. If not, you can normalize the scale. So, for example, if the scale gave a movie $10 and you would have given it $7, just subtract off $3 from the scale for all the movies to find out about where you would put them.
Well, I hope this introduction has been useful. Thanks again for visiting movieEVERYday.com.
Very sincerely yours,
Scooter

P.S. If you are interested in learning more about this project (me deciding to go to the movies every day for a year), this can be found under the film review for Casanova (2005).
The movie poster below has been selected to appear here because it is from my number one favorite movie of all time, The Sixth Sense.
