The Plot:
A father takes his young son, Ethan, to a dealer of Asian antiquities to see a family heirloom for cash. There, Ethan discovers a secret treasure chest that his life energy activates revealing a beautiful and mesmerizing light show. Jack (Robert Forster) tells the boy that he's been searching for him for years. He believes the boy is his reincarnated companion from many centuries ago. He tells him the tale of ancient Korean mythology that great serpent beasts called Imoogi can become dragons and rise to join their brothers in the heavens if only they are very good and then are able to find and consume the Yuh Yi Joo--a ball of energy that grows in the body of a young girl with a dragon tattoo until age 20. An evil Imoogi named Buraki tries to steal the Yuh Yi Joo so that he might ascend instead. His plans are thwarted by a monk and his protégé (who are now reincarnated into Jack (Robert Forester) and Ethan (Jason Behr). This time around, Yuh Yi Joo has been placed to grow inside of Sarah (Amanda Brooks) of Los Angeles where the grown up Ethan is now a television news reporter. At a construction site, an ancient artifact that looks like a dinosaur egg is uncovered. Ethan goes to investigate and ends up unlocking some memories in his own past. Also, around the same time, Buraki, comes back for another try at getting the Yuh Yi Joo for himself. His army is bigger and worse that ever. Eventually, Sarah and Ethan finally meet up. The rest of the movie entails them trying to escape the government agents who've figured out Sarah is the key to the attracting the serpent from wreaking further havoc on Los Angeles.

They narrowly escape Buraki, when Ethan decides it would be a good idea to go to the house of a friend of his whom he thinks can unlock Sarah's member and give them some answers. When hooked up to his brain wave monitoring system and under hypnosis, Sarah does remember things and then swirls of light envelope her similar to the ones Ethan released from the grunk. Unfortunately, this apparently attracted the attention of Buraki who show up a the house. They get away in a small car only to be chased by government agents who nearly kill her. One agent saves her from death, and urges her to get to the roof of the US Bank Building where he can have her airlifted to safety. Little doe he know, however, that Buraki has summoned his ancient army to march on Los Angeles. A fantastic battle occurs with amazing CGI effects. Unfortunately, Buraki captures Sarah and Ethan and takes them to a remote site with a sacrificial altar. Here, Buraki will take the Yuh Yi Joo and become a dragon. But, just as things are looking grim, of course, the good Imoogi arrives to intervene. He battles with Buraki, and Ethan uses his amulet to command a great power obliterating Buraki's army. After which, the good Imoogi takes the Yuh Yi Joo from Sarah transforming him into a beautiful dragon. He then easily defeats Buraki. While he doesn't like it, Sarah and the good dragon ascend to the heavens leaving poor Ethan behind.
