There's not a lot to spoil except who end up with whom in the end…so…
Jocelyn (Maria Bello) ends up with Grigg (Hugh Dancy) but only after a cameo by Nancy Travis as his older sister seals the deal. She tells Jocelyn that Grigg will probably never tell her how he really feels and takes the blame as his older sister for emotionally retarding him in this area. Of course, his comments that Jocelyn prefers dogs to people because she wants to be surrounded by things that will obey her, took some getting over.
Prudie, after convincing Dean to read Jane Austen with her, a task nearly as difficult as getting him to give up nachos at a tailgate party, persuades him back into the fold of loving her and her loving him. Poor Trey (Kevin Zegers) is left alone at the motel to learn the hard way that married women who read Jane Austen, may find themselves suddenly unable to 'walk' toward their passion.
Bernadette shows up in the film's final scene, a 1-year anniversary of sorts, to their finishing of their book club's initial mission, with husband number seven in tow. He's learning English and she's learning Spanish, but as far as anyone can tell, they are head over heels in love.
Sylvia and Daniel rekindle their lost romance. He reads Jane Austen and realizes his many mistakes. She is also a new and more self-assured person, far more attractive due to her confidence and understanding of herself and her own needs and desires.
Allegra ends up with her physician.
