As Claire's caravan races to Las Vegas, Dr. Isaacs (Iain Glen) sets up camp atop the parking garage of a now sand dune engulfed mega casino. Below, he's set a trap, a container full of the super zombies he's created in the process of attempting to perfect the domestication process. His entire operation has been without the authorization of his superiors at Umbrella Corp who have failed to give him the go ahead due to his zeal to waste resources in the pursuit of an unconfirmed Alice sighting. As the caravan arrives in former Las Vegas and finds the city literally buried in the sand, they quietly shudder at the sight. They unload near Paris and begin to look for supplies. They surmise the lack of any sign of life must be due to a previous crow attack that cleared the city of cannibalistic zombies as easily as the flock had nearly wiped them out. Unfortunately, before they can make much progress, the container of super zombies is opened, and out pour the homicidal raging 'maddies' aiming to kill everyone in their path. It's unclear how exactly, Isaacs hopes to ensure they don't kill Alice as he and his henchman look on from the satellite enhanced video signal. She makes short work of many of the zombies, but most of the people in the caravan are killed. Once Alice is alone on the top of a building, Isaacs orders that the shut down signal be issued to her from the satellite. Her pupils momentarily change to the Umbrella Corp logo, and then she freezes, silent, cold, and emotionless. Her brain, however, sends psionic energy to the satellite, searches for a particular microchip, and fries the chip preventing it from not only sending her a signal but also the video signal to Isaacs. She regains her purpose just long enough to get herself into position to attack Isaacs' tent before the next satellite comes into range. Isaacs escapes in a helicopter returning to his Nevada underground base to regroup, but not before he his bitten in an attack by one of the super zombies of his own creation.
Alice (Milla Jovovich) returns to rescue those remaining members of the caravan and fend off the rest of the super zombies. Though she fails to get to Carlos (Obed Fehr) soon enough. He survives, but is bitten. Alice sets forth a plan to storm the base, get the anti-virus and allow them all to escape to Alaska in the Umbrella Corp's helicopter. When they arrive at the complex, it is literally surrounded by thousands of the cannibalistic zombies. Given that Carlos is close to conversion, he agrees to drive the tanker truck loaded with dynamite up to the gate and blow it and himself up giving them an opportunity to get to the helicopter. The plans works spectacularly, but once everyone is on board, Alice stays behind to the dismay of the remaining survivors. Claire (Ali Larter) lifts off and the helicopter flies into the distance.
Alice enters the shack and finds the hidden elevator into the complex. In computer game fashion, she descends to the bottom, and now must face her mortal enemy. The computer holographic interface alerts her to what has happened.
Upon return to the complex and the subsequent injection of countless tubes of the viral inhibitor, the renegade Isaacs has been marked for liquidation by the Umbrella Corp leadership. He is shot several times by the dude now in charge of the facility who says to him while shooting him, "Oh just die." Unfortunately for him, though, Isaacs does not die. In fact, he's been turned in to a mega super zombie. He's got wild new powers but seems to have retained all of his intelligence and knowledge. He immediately kills everyone in the complex and plans to take over the world. The complex computer, however, intervenes and isolates him to the lower levels for the time being. It instructs Alice as to where to find him and wishes her luck. During her search for him, Alice discovers a bubble containing one of her clones. She releases the clone, but it seems to die in her arms. She covers it. Now more enraged than ever, she searches out Isaacs and finally encounters him in the simulated bedroom of her former apartment designed originally to lure her into thinking things were ok back in the previous films. She tries to kill him, but he uses his tentacles to ensnare her by the throat. She stomps the floorboard which launches her knife into the air where she catches it and chops off his tentacles. She then uses her psionic energy to blast a path through the floorboards effectively blasting him through the back wall. Working to regain her composure as all great uses of her psionic powers cost her physical and mental stress, he returns with a message that he cannot die, and then he blasts her into the next room with a burst of his own newly discovered psionic energy. The room, unfortunately for him, happens to be the hallway test chamber with laser beam cutting streams that was designed to test Alice's abilities to survive challenges. Once in the room, Alice's clone, who is not dead after all, controls the computer and turns on the criss-cross cutting beams which, like a wire egg slicer, chop the mutated Isaacs into a hundred little pieces. Apparently, he can die. Alice and her clone then project themselves into the Umbrella Corp's Tokyo complex meeting, where she informs them that she and some of her friends will be coming to get them. She discovers the clone chamber and realizes there are literally hundreds of her.
Then it ends.
No, there's nothing after the credits.
No, we never find out if Claire and company make it safely to Alaska. Not even a hint. Unanswered Questions: (add your own below as comments)
If Alice is so perceptive, etc., how come she cannot tell that Las Vegas is a trap?
Why can't Alice just use her psionic powers to fireball all the super zombies when they are still in the container? Or why doesn't she use this same power on Isaacs' tent?
How does Alice now where to go on the elevator once inside the complex? She goes straight to the bottom.
Isaacs seems to have killed everyone in the complex, but the computer says it's managed to isolate him in the lower levels? What happened to all the people on the upper levels? This is a gigantic complex, has he rooted out and killed everyone?
Once in the complex, when Alice talks to the computer who is now 'on her side', it seems unclear then why doesn't the computer just take care of Isaacs itself?
Why doesn't Isaac kill all the clones while he's at it? Doesn't he realize their potential threat to him?

So by leaving the whole alaska trip and awakening all the other Alice is there going to be another movie. Also I think the computer was controlling the elevator that took Alice to the bottom.
someone please explain what the hell happened at the begining of the movie, where uninfected rednecks were trying to kill Alice?
