Seriously, don't read spoilers for this film. Go see it! It's a life-changing film that shouldn't be spoiled.

But, if you need a spoiler because you had to leave the theatre early for some dire emergency, here are but the bare elements of the ending. Seriously, though, the film is worthy of multiple viewings, and you should probably just see it again.

The Ending:
As it turns out, Dagmar (Patricia Clarkson), the town physician, correctly predicts that part of Lars's mind has created the need for Bianca, the Real Doll. And, as she meets with him (Ryan Gosling) and explores what's really on his mind and why he needs Bianca, she discovers his frailties and fears as does he. She helps him cope, but more importantly, the town helps him cope. As they grow to accept and need Bianca themselves, Lars grows to need her less and less. She refuses to marry him, and this opens the door for her demise. She dies of a very serious illness that, fortunately, doesn't last too long. He, Bianca, Gus (Paul Schneider), and Karin (Emily Mortimer) experience a final day at the lake together before Bianca finally meets her end. The town holds a big 'funeral' for her (no black attire is allowed since Bianca found that too sad). It was clear she had a profoundly moving impact on the entire town; but, more importantly, their acceptance of her, eventually freed Lars to become himself and to fall in love with, the real girl, Margo (Kelli Garner) from work.

Are you kidding me?!? What you really need is to save the $9 from the first time you don't go and see this film and save it for the next one, just read your review and leave it as that. There is no way you should spend another $9 seeing this film a second time if you just missed the ending, again I say just read the review you wrote, realize that there is no need to see this film, and wait for the next good film to be released.
