Ok, if you didn't stay until after the credits, you should have. There's a shot of the real Dewey Cox. It's not long, but it's funny.

Spoiler Points: …hmm…
• As a little kid, Dewey Cox cuts his brother in half accidentally during a machete fight.
• Dewey Cox (John C. Reilly) is forced to leave town when he performs and outrageous song that teens love but the pastor says is Devil's music
• Dewey gets discovered in a nightclub for erotic dancing the night he takes over for the real performer who has laryngitis by a trio of Jewish record executives named L’Chai’m (Harold Ramis), Mazeltov (Phil Rosenthal), and Schmendrick (Martin Starr).
• Dewey gets so good that, on the road, all the women want him and he starts doing all sorts of drugs. But the girl he falls for, Darlene Madison (Jenna Fischer) won't do anything with him until they're married. So he gets married. Unfortunately, just as he's about to finally consummate the marriage, his wife Edith (Kristen Wiit) shows up to surprise him. Needless to say, he loses both women on the same day.
• Every time things go bad for Dewey, he pulls sinks off the wall. Just rips them off like He-Man or the Bionic Man—or She-Ra or the Bionic Woman.
• After his career begins to tank, Dewey is picked back up when a little kid claiming to be his son comes to play catch with him. He gives it all up to become a proper father to his umpteen kids. They all live together on the Cox Ranch.
• Dewey gets back together with Darlene.
• Dreidel L'Chai'm shows up on his doorstep to show him that a rapper has brought him back into fame by using clips from Walk Hard in his video. He convinces Dewey to Walk Hard once more on stage with his band as he receives the life-time achievement award.
• Dewey gets inspired to write the song of his life. At the ceremony, he is introduced by the real Eddie Vedder, and then the band performs the song.
• Dewey dies three minutes later.
