Spoiler Points:
• When Roscoe or R.J. (as in Roscoe Junior) (Martin Lawrence) and Clyde (Cedric the Entertainer) were growing up, Clyde's parents were killed and Clyde came to live with his Jenkins relatives. This put a huge strain on Roscoe's relationship with his father because Clyde beat him at everything.
• Roscoe's one claim to fame came when he won the Jenkins Family Obstacle Course race by a nose vs. Clyde. The reward was supposed to be getting to ask local beauty queen Lucinda (Nicole Ari Parker) to the dance. Roscoe won, but Clyde asked her first anyway beginning a life-long feeling of animosity toward Clyde by Roscoe.
• At the anniversary celebration, cracks start to show in R.J.'s and Bianca's relationship. While engaged to be married, he seems to find himself alone with Lucinda (Clyde's date to the reunion) than with his bride-to-be.
• Things get so heated between Clyde and R.J. they get into a brawl and destroy the kitchen. This leads to them eventually challenging each to the to the obstacle course. When they go to approach and climb the wall, R.J. passes up an opportunity to help advance his son Jaamal(Damani Roberts) instead of himself. But, he listens no to his heart but to Bianca's blaring trumpet as she shouts, "Leave him, leave him." So, R.J. goes on to win this race by a hair too much to the cheering delight of almost no one but Biancca. He does an in your face victory dance, and everyone except Bianca, including Jamaal is disappointed him.
• R.J. decides to take his family home early and miss the banquet. On the way to the airport, Bianca suggests they not invite his family to their wedding and, instead, hire actors to play them for the video footage.
• At this moment, R.J. realizes that Bianca is not the woman for him. He still pines for Lucinda. He drops her at the airport to the delight of Jamaal and they return just in time for him to do what he does best, work a mic and deliver a truly heart-felt toast to his parents and his love for them. His father says it’s the most meaningful gift he's ever received in the first vocal affirmation of R.J.'s life.
• During the closing credits, the "R.J. Stevens Show" has become the Roscoe Jenkins show and he has his family on as guests. They each say something not overly air-worthy—in other words, uncomfortably funny for Roscoe.
