The Ending:
Eden Sinclair (Rhona Mitra) and her gang discover the medieval world that Dr. Kane (Malcolm McDowell) has created in an ancient Scottish castle. After infiltrating the settlement, they are captured, and Kane pits Sinclair against his best fighter in the pit just like old times. She defeats him and escapes after learning that Kane has not found a cure for the virus, rather, he feels those who survived are the 'fittest' to live with their natural immunity. She and her gang escape into an underground bunker created by the military in the time before the plague and flee in a shiny new car that was stored in a crate—don't ask where they got gas or petrol as the Brits call it. They speed off attempting to get out of Scotland. Sinclair realizes that Kane's daughter, the estranged girl whom they meet and who guides them to Kane's Castle, possesses the cure in her very blood. They take her to the wall and she is taken away. Sinclair stays back in hopes of discovering clues to her past. She gets ambushed by the rowdy gang they meet early in their mission—the one where Sinclair beheads the female gang leader riling her partner and inciting his inner rage. The ambush yields a complex battle which Sinclair eventually wins. She returns with the leader's broken body and offers him up to his former gang as food with the line, "Here, try a piece of your friend." She does not realize they will be grateful to see him dead at last and she their new hero.
