Spoiler Points for Semi-Pro:
• Jackie Moon (Will Ferrell) owns, coaches, and plays for his Flint, Michigan Tropicals. They are losers.
• The league votes to fold the 4 most lucrative teams into the NBA. Moon cannot accept this, and proposes that the top 4 teams should move on rather than seeing his team turned into a line in the Almanac.
• He trades a washing machine for Monix (Woody Haarrelson) to step up the offense.
• Known for being an ABA thug, the rest of the team is hardly welcoming at first.
• Eventually, Monix takes over as the Offensive and Defensive coordinator so as not to offend Moon. The team then practices a play over and over until they upchuck (sort of like in the film Miracle only that was hockey, Herb Brooks, and an Olympic medal).
•It all comes down to the final game. During the game, Moon gets a vision from his mother to instruct the team as to how to create the alley oop. This new way of scoring brings the team back from the brink of a huge lose, helping them to win.
