Spoiler Points for Michael McCullers's Baby Mama
• Corporate Round Earth VP, Kate Holbrook (Tina Fey) hires a surrogate mother, Angie Ostrowski (Amy Poehler) to bear her child.
• After Angie has a falling out with her common-law husband, Carl (Dax Shepard), Angie ends up on Kate's doorstep.
• What Kate does not know that is that Angie faked the pregnancy test and Carl had to fake the ultrasound picture. As much as Kate has grown to like Angie, this information will devastate her.
• Meanwhile, Kate falls in love with the Fruit Juice shop owner / operator, Rob (Greg Kinnear). She does not, however, tell him that she's keeping a surrogate mother carrying her baby in her home.
• Just as Kate is about to find out that Angie isn't pregnant, the doctor shows them both the ultra sound and the little baby living in side. Turns out that Angie did get pregnant, but not from the procedures and one of Kate's fertilized eggs. Rather she must have gotten pregnant during tension busting intercourse with Carl. Again, she has an opportunity to make things right and fails.
• No matter because eventually Carl reveals it all at Kate's baby shower. Things get bad from that point on. Kate moves Angie to a hotel and sues to get a paternity suit going ASAP. Meanwhile, her relationship with Rob subsides after he made disparaging remarks about people bringing their kids into the world in the most unnatural way.
• The paternity test revelation by the judge momentarily rejoins everyone as to being friends and realizing they were all victims of circumstances rather than malicious intent.
• The day that Angie's baby is due, She and Kate made it to the hospital in the nick of time. As the baby is being born, Kate faints. Angie names here baby Stefani as in Gwen.
• When Kate awakens, the doctor tells her that against all odds she is pregnant and she should start buying lottery tickets.
She know the father is Rob.
• The film ends with a photo and video montage of events that followed. Including Stefani's first birthday party. All the couples are back together and life is like a package of organically combined, hypoallergenic diapers.
