Spoiler Points for The Wackness:
• Josh Peck plays Luke Shapiro, a recent HS grad living in the upper East side of Manhattan who supports himself by selling pot to people from an Italian Ice cart. He escapes the Guiliani brigade because he doesn't look the part.
• Luke's client psychiatrist Dr. Squires (Ben Kingsley) has a beautiful wife Kristin (Famke Janssen) and step-daughter, Stephanie (Olivia Thirlby) yet is as lonely as can be. In sessions paid for by pot, Squires shares his wisdom on life and tries to help the boy conquer his virginity. He does not realize that conquest will be his step-daughter which whom he really does not want consorting with a pot dealer.
• Luke learns that his family is going down the tubes financially putting his home in Manhattan at risk, so he redoubles his efforts to both score with Stephanie and then in his side business to raise the cash needed to save his home.
• As he develops the confidence needed to attract Stephanie and learns how to insert himself into her life, he simultaneously falls in true love with her—something she's not prepared to handle. When he says, "I love you" he immediately realizes that everything in those three words has changed his life. She avoids him, and breaks his heart hooking up immediately with her old boyfriend when he gets back from Europe.
• But, this doesn’t stop him from saving Dr. Squires' life and helping him to realize that there are better things in life eventually hooking him up with a new potential life partner who's not gotten as bored and boring has his wife.
