Spoiler Points for The House Bunny
Why does Shelley (Anna Faris) have to leave the Playboy Mansion?
• She gets a letter from Hugh Hefner that asks her to leave. Marvin (Owen Benjamin), the mansion man servant explains it's probably that she's too old. "27 is like 54 in bunny years." It turns out, though that Hugh did not write the letter. Instead the evil villain Bunny who has designs on being Ms. November writes it and swears Marvin to secrecy. She uses his weakness for man-boob twisting to control him.
How does Shelley win over the girls at the Zeta House?
• She speaks their names in a voice right out of The Exorcist.
• She inspires them by vowing to win over pledges with a huge virgin sacrificial party.
• She turns them into calendar girls and raises a ton of money for their philanthropic causes which includes the nursing home run by Oliver (Colin Hanks) and who might just be sweet on Shelley if she only had a brain—which she does, she's just not used to really using it.
Why does Shelley leave the Zeta House?
• Just when things are going great and Zeta is getting a ton of pledge activity, they have a big fight when it seems they are turning out vapid and just like their rivals they had hoped never to be like. They accuse Shelley of turning them into monsters, so she calls Hef and agrees to be the November Playmate.
• But, she's miserable and longs for her former life. She abandons Hef and the photo shoot and returns just in time to help save the house. In the meantime, the pledge invites were lost in the trash by the sneaky rivals of Zeta. Their lack of pledge success has forced the Dean of the College (Christopher McDonald) to meet with the Greek Society to revoke the Zeta Charter.
• Shelley shows up just as the votes are about to be cast. Her impassioned plea, however, causes 30 people on the spot to pledge and save the house!
