ESCAPE STUDIOS LAUNCH VIRTUAL CG SCHOOL

First time 3D animation course taught online in HD

World class training on Autodesk Maya software at home

Escape Studios, one of the world’s leading CG schools and studios, has now made it possible for anyone to access the highest quality training from the comfort of their own home and at their own speed.

The computer graphics school, which is responsible for training some of the world’s best animators and Oscar® winning CG artists, is launching a new state of the art online 3D animation course in HD. The revolutionary online platform allows students to become computer graphics experts from anywhere in the world and promises to open doors into the film, games and animation industries.

It means students will now have access to world class training in Autodesk Maya at the click of a mouse.

The launch of the online course on Monday 8th September 2008, follows the announcement that Escape Studios is also now open for business in New York, making sure their CG expertise is now available on both sides of the Atlantic.

The online training tool means that entry-level students or anyone wanting to re-train can be educated in their own time and pace and will receive instant online help from Escape’s online community. The option to tailor make a custom online course will also appeal to established industry talent who want to develop their skill set, as aspects of the course can be mixed and matched, depending on the required focus.

Previous Escape Studios students have gone on to work on major films including The Golden Compass, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix and 10,000BC. The school is also backed by British Oscar winning director, Ridley Scott, who worked on blockbusters such as Gladiator, Black Hawk Down and Hannibal.

Robin Shenfield, CEO of Oscar winning The Mill is a supporter of the school and employer of many Escape graduates: "Escape trainees are in a class of their own and well equipped to enter the working environment. We’re looking forward to meeting more of them with the launch of Escape’s online learning tool.”

The London based company already boasts one of the leading schools of computer animation and visual effects, but this development sees it extend its influence to the internet. Now for the first time anyone in the world wanting to break into the competitive CG industry will be able to have access to in-depth educational videos in HD (720p) quality. The on-line learning platform allows users to search a huge library of material as well as structured self-paced training programmes.

Escape Studios’ CEO, Dominic Davenport, says: “Training the next generation of CG creatives via the internet is a very exciting development for us and for the industry. The superb new training software has been designed to be as useful for those picking it up for the first time as it is for experienced professionals who know what they want. We hope an Oscar® will be won by the next star graduate using the tool.”

Escape Studios online training launches on 8th September 2008 with six introductory Maya courses priced at £400 each. To find out more visit www.escapestudios.com
