Spoiler Points:
• Horton (Jim Carrey) become acquainted with an entire civilization living on a speck of dust he's captured on a pink clover.
• Horton is told by the leader of his jungle, the Kangaroo (Carol Burnett), that he's to stop all this foolishness and pretending that there is life on that clover. He does not listen to her. Instead he learns that his actions in his world cause things such as earthquakes in tiny Whoville, so he seeks a refuge for the speck.
• Unfortunately, all of his efforts begin to fail as the horrible Vlad (voiced by Will Arnett) a vulture on a mission from the Kangaroo to destroy him and his beloved Whoville.
• Meanwhile, back in Whoville, no one will believe the Mayor (voiced by Steve Carrell) that Whoville is in danger. In fact, the city council mocks him openly.
• Vlad swoops in and steals Horton's clover. After a perilous chase, he drops Horton's clover into a gigantic pink clover field. Horton rushes down to the field looking for his friends.
• Just when Horton feels all hope is lost. He finds the right clover flower. He is overjoyed to the point of euphoria when the Kangaroo discovers that Vlad has let her down. She orders all the members of the jungle to capture Horton and to burn up his clover in a pot of boiling oil.
• Moments before the clover is to be seared, it is saved by Kangaroo's baby when he hears the noise coming from the speck and grabs it from the jaws of doom. The breakthrough came when JoJo (voiced by Jesse McCartney), the Mayor's son, manages to get the sound channel to permit the sound of Whoville to reach the outer world.
• The Kangaroo and Horton make up, and Horton takes the clover to a spot of permanent safety.
