Spoiler Points for Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay
• Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) are headed for Amsterdam so that Harold can find his true love and Kumar can have non-stop access to his favorite smokes.
• But, poor Kumar cannot wait until they get to Amsterdam to light up, no, he has to invite Harold to the aircraft lav to view his new smokeless water pipe. Not long after, unfortunately for the duo, an elderly woman mistakes the bong for a bomb and Harold and Kumar for terrorists.
• Federal Air Marshalls take the two would-be-terrorizers to meet up with Homeland Security Asst. Director Ron Fox (Rob Corddry) who quickly sends them to Guantanamo Bay where they are subjected to terrible tortures until one day they escape—hence the film's title. They hitch a ride with some Cuban refugees back to Miami where a wealthy college buddy hooks them up with new clothes and a car for their trip to Texas where they believe Kumar's ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend Colton (Eric Winter) will be able to help them out of this jam given that he's such good friends with President George W. Bush.
• On the way, borrowing a page and similar route from Borat, the two encounter a 'rough', southern neighborhood inhabited by orthodontists, a KKK rally where the two do not exactly fit in, a shroomed out Neil Patrick Harris playing himself, the Best Little Whorehouse in that part of Texas, and various other odd characters and circumstances.
• Eventually, they have to steal NPH's car and escape when he goes ballistic and brands one of his call girls. They end up driving directly to the Colton's estate.
• Despite being told to stay in the car or risk ending their friendship, Kumar gets out when he sees Vanessa (Danneel Harris) break her heel and fall into the garden. He leaps to her aid and the two start to talk etc.
• Harold returns with great news that Colton is going to speak to his father and then to the President about this matter. They go along with Colton only to find themselves back in the hands of the inept Ron Fox.
• He plans to return them to GB, but before he can do so, Kumar whips out Mace they stole from NPH and the two parachute out of the plane plummeting straight into George W.Bush's Texas retreat home.
• There, they smoke pot with the president (being impersonated by James Adomian) and he takes a liking to the boys. He agrees not only to pardon them, but to go to Colton and Vanessa's wedding with Harold and Kumar to let the world know the real side of Colton.
• The wedding is called off, and Kumar and Vanessa leave for Amsterdam with Harold.
• Just when all hope of finding Maria (Paula Garcés) is lost, Harold sees her through a cafe window. Everything goes on happily ever after.
