Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008) [PG]-- W.I.P. Scale™ Rating: $12.75
Review-lite: While darker and less poignant than the first Chronicles film, Prince Caspian possesses all of the grand special effects and wonder of the first. William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes, and Georgis Henley are back as Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy called back to Narnia to help the rightful heir to the throne, Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes) ascend to his throne in a Narnia now ruled by invaders called the Telmarines, descendants of Pirates whose ship wreck on an island opened a portal into Narnia through which they invaded. Not quite as good as the first film due to the lack of a sense of epic adventure in a whole new world, nonetheless, the likeable young cast once again treats us to a very good film with some disappointing news, however, for fans of William Moseley and Anna Popplewell. Ben Barnes is a great addition adding a fresh dynamic and love interest for Susan. (click for full details and complete review)

Step Brothers (2008) [R]-- W.I.P. Scale™ Rating: $7.75
Review-lite: Actually, there was every reason to feel great about Step Brothers: reunion of Talladega Nights principle cast and director, Will Ferrell just came off the financially unsuccessful and critically panned fiasco (Semi-Pro), preview was pretty darn funny, producer = Judd Apatow, what more could you ask? How about that not every funny part be in the preview? How about that the plot have a point? How about that Will Ferrell has now been type cast as the hopeless misfit who's so lame he still gets beaten up at age 45 by schoolyard bullies? How about that John C. Reilly once had a promising acting career but continues to steer in front of train wrecks like this? Well, on the bright side, Step Brothers is better than the aforementioned Semi-Pro. Hey, no offense, but it's even better than Superbad, sort of despite the plot similarities. But, other than that, it's beginning to seem more and more like Judd Apatow has lost his touch. The X-Files: I Want To Believe (2008) [PG-13]-- W.I.P. Scale™ Rating: $9.25
Review-lite: Unfortunately, die-hard "The X-Files" fans, the film might better have been called "X-Files: I'm in Utter Disbelief about How Bad this Movie Is". Mulder and Sculley reunite to find a kidnapped FBI agent the bureau feels will die if not found in a few days. Their only lead is a former Priest charged with many counts of child abuse from back in the day, who claims he's getting visions from God to direct him to victims of heinous crimes. If anyone can figure out what Chris Carter was thinking with this plot, let them post away here. The film is flat out terrible. (click for full details and complete review)
